The Jaws Tour

You’ve seen the movie. Now see where it was made. This tour takes you to the actual filming locations scattered across the island — including the Jaws bridge, where your guide will tell you stories about Spielberg and the cast that never made it into any documentary. Four beach towels are always in the van, in case anyone wants to jump.

Jaws Factoids — Things to Know Before You Go
Filming began in early May 1974 to beat an impending actors' strike.
The originally planned 55–65 day shoot stretched to 159 days due to technical problems — mostly with the mechanical shark.
Summer releases were for low-end movies back then. Jaws changed that forever.
Local extras were paid $64 each to run across the beach and scream.

History & Culture

African American Heritage Tour

Martha’s Vineyard has a rich and often overlooked African American history — and this tour brings it to life. You’ll hear about the formation of the NAACP on the island, the connection between Grace Church and the one in Mississippi, the Wampanoag’s role in helping escaped slaves, and the Overton House’s connection to the Civil Rights movement. Scenic & Shopping

Cliffs & Edgartown Shop

A narrated drive through the up-island countryside — past stone walls, grazing livestock, and Atlantic shoreline views — all the way to the Aquinnah Cliffs. You’ll have 15 minutes at the lighthouse and the breathtaking 180-degree views of the Elizabeth Islands. Then it’s on to Edgartown for 90 minutes of shopping and lunch in one of New England’s most beautifully preserved historic towns. The ride back crosses the Jaws bridge.
