Our Story
Experience Martha’s Vineyard Tours was born from a simple idea: the best way to share our island is to show it the way a local would — not from a script, but with genuine knowledge, real stories, and a whole lot of love for the Vineyard.
Teri, Ralf, and their team have spent years building something no rideshare app or rental bike can replicate. Our guides truly know Martha’s Vineyard. They know where to find the most breathtaking views. They know the history behind every lighthouse. And they’ll share things you simply won’t find in any travel guide.
We’re proud to be the largest local van tour company on the island — and even prouder of what that means. Every time one of our vans rolls out, it carries a promise: to show our guests the real Martha’s Vineyard.
What makes us different.
Martha’s Vineyard has plenty of ways to get around. But most of them leave you figuring it out on your own — map in hand, rental bike between your legs, and hoping you somehow stumble onto the good stuff. We have a better idea.
Every tour we run is narrated live by a guide who knows this island the way only a local can. Our shared island tours take you through all six towns in just three hours, with a mid-tour stop at the stunning Aquinnah Cliffs. And if you’re looking to go deeper, our private and specialty tours do just that — exploring the history of the African American Heritage Trail, the iconic filming locations of Jaws, the farms and open fields of Chilmark, or wherever else you’re curious to go.
We keep our vans small on purpose. Fourteen seats maximum on shared tours. No stadium-style buses, no crowds — just a comfortable, air-conditioned van, a great guide, and the whole island waiting in front of you.
We’re also here year-round, not just when the summer crowds roll in. Whether you’re visiting at peak season or soaking up the island’s quieter side in October, we’re running tours. Because that’s what it means to be a real island company — not a seasonal pop-up.
