Before You Go

Where do I meet the tour van?

The pickup location for all shared tours is the Memorial Soldier Statue at 1 Seaview Ave, Oak Bluffs diagonally across from the Steamship Authority terminal, Please check in 10 minutes before your departure time.

How far in advance should I make a booking for a tour?

we recommend booking as soon as you know you can travel, and have decided on which tour you would like to go on. Some of our tours can be quite popular so it’s best to secure your spot as soon as possible.

Where is the pick-up for the shared tour?​

The pickup location for all of our shared tours is diagonally across the street from the Oak Bluffs Steamship Authority terminal (at the Soldier Memorial statue) 1 Seaview Ave.

Is there a ticket booth window?

We do not currently have an office onsite at this time. Please feel free to call us at 508-939-1359, book online or email us at vineyardtransport@gmail.com

Where is the pick-up for my private tour?​

We can pick you and your party up at any location on Martha’s Vineyard. If location not listed when you book on-line, just type it in.

Are children allowed on your tours?​

For Shared Tours : travelers must be at least ten years old at the departure date. For private or custom tours, there is no minimum age.

How many passengers are on a shared tour?
We can accommodate up to 14 passengers comfortably on our Shared Tour.
In what language is the tour given?
All tours will be presented in english.
Does the guide speak throughout or is the tour conducted with some form of media?
All of our vehicles are wired with speakers and the guide will have a headset to conduct the tour.

On the Tour

How much walking/physical activity occurs on the tour?
On our shared tour, there is one stop at which time you may or may not, get out and stretch your legs or walk a short distance to the overlook in Aquinnah. The amount of walking in entirely up to you. On our private tours, you may walk as little or as much as you like.
Can you guarantee or assign seating?
All of our seats are comfortable, with easy access and viewing. With our shared tour, we cannot guarantee a specific seat. With a private tour, it’s up to your group.
Is it appropriate to give a gratuity?
Gratuities are encouraged for a job well done at the discretion of the guest. With some of the larger groups, the gratuity has already been included. Please feel free to ask.
Will I need a car seat for young children/babies?
Massachusetts State Law requires children under 57 inches tall to be in an approved safety seat. Children over 57 inches must use a seatbelt.
Can you work around ferry arrival and departure times?

Are food and drinks allowed while on the tour?
No Food is allowed in our tour vans. Water is allowed. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed under any circumstance for the safety and comfort of all our guests. (by law).
Do you run tours in inclement weather?
Yes, we operate tours rain or shine, hot or cold, year-round.
Are there restrooms?
There are public restrooms at the Steamship Authority terminals, both in Oak Bluffs, and Vineyard Haven. For the Shared Tour, there are public restrooms at Aquinnah. For Private Tours, your tour driver will be happy to stop at any of the convenient public restrooms throughout the Island.
Where can I park for my tour?
If you have a vehicle with you on Martha’s Vineyard, there is 24 hour parking along the harbor, across from Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs. If you are taking the ferry over, there are designated lots for each ferry. See our website links to the ferries that operate to and from Martha’s Vineyard.
How do I get to Martha's Vineyard?
There are no bridges or tunnels connecting us to the mainland. You can take one of the many ferries, or fly to Martha’s Vineyard Airport. See the list of ways to get to Martha’s Vineyard HERE below.

Getting to Martha's Vineyard

There are no bridges or tunnels to Martha’s Vineyard. You’ll arrive by ferry or by air- here are your options, along with walking directions from each Oak Bluffs ferry dock to your tour departure point.

Walking Directions to 1 Seaview Ave

Walking directions from the Oak Bluffs ferries:

Steamship Authority – Oak Bluffs
Walk off the ferry, down the pier to the street. You will see several vans parked to the left along the curb. Look for mini-bus or van with “MV Transport” (please keep in mind that the Steamship Authority offers many trips every day and some ferries dock in Oak Bluffs while others dock in Vineyard Haven. Be sure to confirm where your ferry will be docking. If docking in vineyard haven, you will need to take bus or taxi to oak bluffs).
Island Queen – Oak Bluffs
When coming off the Island Queen you will walk straight ahead up Seaview Avenue (keeping the ocean on your left) and the Steamship Authority terminal will be at the top of the hill. You will see several vans parked along the curb. Look for mini-bus or van with “MV Transport”
Hyline - Oak Bluffs
Walk off boat, turn right, with water on your right and walk along dock to Lake Ave. Turn left on Lake Ave. (Nancy’s on the corner) and head up Lake Ave, until you arrive at small yellow building which is the Steamship terminal. You will see several vans parked along the front of building curb. Look for mini-bus or van with “MV Transport”
Seastreak - Oak Bluffs
The Seastreak Ferry docks along the Steamship Authority (see directions above)
Rhode Island Fast Ferry - Oak Bluffs
(Quonset Point to Oak Bluffs) When coming off the Rhode Island Fast Ferry, you will walk straight ahead up Seaview Avenue (keeping the ocean on your left) and the Steamship Authority terminal will be at the top of the hill. You will see several vans parked along the curb. Look for mini-bus or van with “MV Transport”

SECTION 1 – WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

When you purchase something from us, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

SECTION 2 – CONSENT

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

How do I withdraw my consent?

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at vineyardtransport@gmail.com

SECTION 3 – DISCLOSURE

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

SECTION 4 – FAREHARBOR

Our online booking system is hosted on FareHarbor Inc. They provide us with the secure online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through FareHarbor’s data storage, databases. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

PAYMENT:

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then FareHarbor stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

SECTION 6 – SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

SECTION 7 – AGE OF CONSENT

By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

SECTION 8 – CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

If our business is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
