Tour Starting Points

Three Tours to Start From

These tours give you a sense of what’s possible — but none of them are locked in. Call us, tell us what interests you, and we’ll shape the day around that. The tours below are starting points, not rigid itineraries.

01

Art & Culture

Gallery Tour

Martha’s Vineyard has a thriving arts community, and this tour takes you through it. You’ll visit a collection of the island’s most celebrated galleries — from the iconic Granary Gallery in its red barn in West Tisbury (the oldest and largest gallery on the island, open since 1954) to the Field Gallery and its outdoor sculpture garden founded by artist Tom Maley in 1971. Each gallery has its own character and its own story.
Galleries May Include

Specific galleries visited depend on season, hours, and your preferences-your guide will help you make the most of the day.

02

Farm & Agriculture

Farm & Field Tour

There are over 40 working farms on Martha’s Vineyard — a remarkable number for an island this size. This tour takes you through the agricultural heart of the island, with a narrated drive past farmland, stone walls, and the kind of working landscape that most visitors never see from the ferry or the beach. Your guide will tell you the stories behind the farms and the families who run them.
Farms May Include
Farm stops vary by season and availability. Your guide will customize the route based on what’s happening on the island the day of your tour.

03

Beaches & Shoreline

Beach Walk Tour

Martha’s Vineyard has dozens of beaches, each with its own character — from the calm Vineyard Sound shores at Menemsha and Lobsterville to the Atlantic-facing surf at South Beach, and the historically significant Inkwell Beach in Oak Bluffs. This tour takes you to some of the island’s most unique and beautiful stretches of coastline. You’ll walk on the sand, discover shells and beach glass, and hear the history of each beach from a guide who grew up here. Bring a snack — there’s time for a picnic.
Beaches May Include
Beach selection depends on season, tides, and your preferences. Some up-island beaches require town permits your guide will plan accordingly.
Nothing Is Off the Table

Don't see your idea here? Call us anyway.

The tours on this page are just a starting point. If you want to see lighthouses, we’ll take you to lighthouses. If Chappaquiddick is on your list, we’ll make that happen. If you’re a birder, a history buff, a foodie, or just want to get off the beaten path — tell us, and we’ll build the day around that.
Our guides were born and raised on this island. They know the roads that don’t show up on maps, the spots that don’t make the guidebooks, and the stories behind the places most people drive past without stopping. That’s what a Customized Tour is really for.
More Ideas

Other Customized Tours We Can Build

In addition to the three tours above, here are other experiences guests have asked us to create. All are call- to-book and fully customizable around your group’s interests.

Lighthouses

Martha's Vineyard has five historic lighthouses. We'll take you to them, with the stories of each.

Chappaquiddick

The small island off Edgartown, reached by a one-minute ferry. Historic, beautiful, and rarely explored by visitors.

Chilmark Flea Market

A 1+ hour stop at the oldest outdoor market on the island. Seasonal — available during Chilmark Flea Market days only.

West Tisbury Farmers Market

A 1+ hour stop at this beloved outdoor farmers market, started in 1974. Seasonal — available during market days only.

Have something else in mind? Call us at (508) 939-1359 and we’ll help you put it together. There’s no request too specific — if it’s on this island, we can probably find it.
